Ethereum locks in Frame Transactions to allow gas payments without holding ETH
Ethereum's Hegotá upgrade has formally committed to the Frame Transactions feature, which allows users to pay network fees in any token instead of requiring ETH holdings. The change was locked in and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said implementation has progressed rapidly.
Why it matters for the crypto market
Removing the requirement to hold ETH for gas payments lowers barriers to entry and usage for new users, widening potential adoption by making the network more accessible.
