Ethereum enables gas fees payable without holding ETH
Ethereum's Hegotá upgrade locked in Frame Transactions, a feature allowing users to pay transaction fees in any token rather than requiring ETH. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin confirmed the work has progressed rapidly since the feature was designated a priority.
Why it matters for the crypto market
Lowering barriers to Ethereum use by removing the requirement to hold ETH for gas fees expands accessibility for new users and institutional adopters.
