Brazilian farmers tokenize dairy cows as loan collateral on a major stock exchange
Ten dairy cows fitted with health-monitoring smart collars were tokenized and registered on Brazil's B3 stock exchange, backing a roughly $19,600 loan. It is one of the first recorded uses of tokenized livestock as collateral in Brazil, allowing farmers to access credit without going through traditional bank lending limits.
Why it matters for the crypto market
Using a blockchain to turn physical farm animals into verifiable loan collateral on a regulated exchange shows how tokenization is expanding beyond financial assets into real-world industries.
