Austria fines Bitpanda 70,000 euros in first published Markets in Crypto-Assets enforcement case
Austria's Financial Market Authority fined Bitpanda 70,000 euros for breaching Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) rules by failing to publish a mandatory white paper 20 days before launch and omitting required disclosures in marketing materials. The decision is now final.
Why it matters for the crypto market
This is the first published MiCA enforcement action in the EU, signaling regulators will actively enforce the bloc's crypto rulebook on white paper disclosure and marketing compliance.
