Kraken opens IPO share access to retail investors using tokenized stock
Kraken is letting eligible US users request allocations in the Jersey Mike's initial public offering, and customers in more than 110 countries can buy tokenized shares backed one-for-one by the underlying stock. The move marks one of the first times a crypto exchange has offered direct IPO access alongside tokenized equity to a global retail audience.
Combining traditional IPO access with tokenized shares on a crypto exchange represents a concrete expansion of what retail investors can do on crypto platforms, blurring the line between equity markets and crypto infrastructure.
