EU sanctions HTX exchange for helping companies dodge Russia restrictions
European Union authorities added the HTX crypto exchange to their sanctions list targeting 18 entities accused of providing crypto or payment services in violation of EU measures against Russia. HTX had already been sanctioned by the UK.
Why it matters for the crypto market
Major exchanges being placed on EU and UK sanctions lists signals tightening international enforcement against crypto platforms seen as circumventing Russia-related restrictions, raising compliance risks for the broader industry.
