Binance faces EU service limits as Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) authorization deadline hits
Binance will restrict onboarding and services for EU users from July 1 after failing to secure MiCA authorization from any EU member state, and has also withdrawn its Greece-filed application while seeking authorization in another jurisdiction. Unlicensed crypto firms are broadly expected to wind down EU activities under the new framework.
Why it matters for the crypto market
MiCA's July 1 deadline is forcing a structural realignment of which exchanges can legally serve EU retail users, with the world's largest exchange among those affected.
