South Korea lets companies and funds start buying crypto
South Korea is phasing in corporate and institutional access to crypto under a Financial Services Commission roadmap. It began with nonprofits such as charities and universities in 2025, and from early 2026 started letting listed companies and professional investors invest. Anti-money-laundering and reporting rules are tightening in parallel.
South Korea is one of the biggest crypto markets in the world, by some measures second only to the United States by trading volume in early 2026. Letting companies and professional investors in adds a large new wave of regulated money.
